Industry News: Americo Manufacturing Expands Operations

Supplier Americo Manufacturing Co. (UPIC: AMERICO), based in Acworth, Georgia, has acquired a 152,000-square-foot facility in Cartersville, Georgia, for $4 million.

The new facility will house Americo’s manufacturing and sales for its expanding PromoMatting division. In addition, Americo has invested $150,000 in equipment for a new line.

“This new facility and the investment in new equipment will allow us to keep up with the growth of our business and help us to continue to provide our customers with superior products and service,” says David Rones, vice president of Americo’s matting division. Rones says business has climbed 30 percent since the same time last year.

In August 2009, Americo acquired Pioneer Mat Co. based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Americo has closed the Tennessee facility and moved the business to the new building in Georgia.
